Wiki 2 - Week 2 Wahanga 3 - Term 3.

Māori Language Week has come to a close for this year. All of us - Whaea Maria, Tuahine Hireke and Myself would like to commend our students for the wonderful job they did of teaching Te Reo Māori to other classes at St Albans this week. They really are a credit to the hard work that goes on in Te Tikanga Rua Reo.

Term 3 Weather.
Term 3 has started off with vim and vigour. The weather is still really cold and we have seen our tauira turn up to school in shorts and a t-shirt. We have had some bitter weather of late, so it would be a great idea to have the school jersey/polar fleece handy.
The whole school will be eating inside this term. This gives the teachers another chance to check on lunch eating and eating habits and patterns. Some of our tauira are eating all their lunch at morning tea time. Please have a chat to them about morning tea and lunch times.

Kapa Haka
Could we have a group of parents to spare a couple of hours to get the kapa haka uniforms out from the resource room, bagged and tagged so we can start fitting the tauira for the Christchurch Cultural Arts Festival. If you could spare a few minutes/hours/days, please contact me here at school.

Tipu is due to start Gymnastics next week. YAY!

Nga mihi

Our topic this term is: LOOK!
(Looking at the past, Looking to the future, look at what I can do)
Expect some questionnaires home regarding this topic. We will need photographs too. It should be interesting.

Here is one of the many shots taken from our trip to Rāpaki. One of the highlights was of course the waka ama and we are still amazed at how calm and sunny the harbour was for us that day.

Ngā mihi
